Sue Masters UKCP reg. MBACP

Sue MastersI offer short term individual and couple counselling, longer term psychotherapy and specialist trauma therapy (EMDR/EFT) from my private practice based on the Haxby Road.

I am also a supervisor of other counsellors, psychotherapists and workers in allied professions.

I have over 15 years experience of working on the full range of life’s troubles and challenges including relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, depression and anxiety, bereavement, stress and work related issues.

I have extensive experience of working with people who have been involved in trauma or physical, emotional and sexual abuse, including domestic violence and adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. I also work with individuals who are primarily interested in exploring their life-purpose or meaning.

My way of working is to help individuals identify their strengths and qualities and to see where these can be harnessed to help resolve their difficulties or reach their full potentials.

In practical terms this means providing a safe, non-judgemental and confidential environment where I can listen to and respond to a person’s life experiences and recurrent life’s themes.

The therapy may include working with dreams and images or using the sand tray for creative expression of an issue.

Please contact me if you would like to discuss how counselling/psychotherapy might work for you.
