Supervision

Both of us have a recognised qualification in supervision and are experienced in supervising counsellors, psychotherapists and other helping professionals such as drug and alcohol workers, clinical psychologists and refuge workers.

We see supervision as a collaborative process providing an opportunity for the practitioner to reflect on their work with clients.

It has both supportive and monitoring functions with priority given to enhancing the therapeutic or professional competence of the supervisee.

We believe that an effective supervision relationship involves optimum amounts of both support and challenge giving attention to the work with clients, to the supervisee’s professional development and to their work context.

Val has written and taught extensively on her Cyclical Model of Supervision.
